Seth Rosenstein and Adam Lefkowitz of the NBA have just reported that a new world Jaguar record for implementation of Scoreboard Film & TV Licensing has been achieved: 60 days from start to finish! Seth and Adam, with help from Jaguar's intrepid senior consultant, Amy Nakano, and the Jaguar technical staff, achieved this awesome milestone despite the challenges of automating a distinct line of business for their Stock Footage department without experienced Jaguar users and with major critical path software modifications. The driving force behind this Herculean effort was the imminent demise of a custom-built software application at the end of 1999 due to Y2K compatibility shortcomings. The NBA and Jaguar were pressed to set a new standard for accelerated project management that will serve as a positive example to Jaguar clients for years to come. Inclusive in the project were two significant modifications that were essential to its success: Contract Miscellaneous Charges and Self Executing Agreements. The first three weeks of the project were devoted to parallel critical path efforts by the NBA and Jaguar: Pilot Simulation with actual Stock Footage department data by the NBA Software modification development and alpha testing by Jaguar's QA department (headed by the relentless Carol Guillebeaux!) The fourth week of the project saw the merger of these two tracks as the Pilot Simulation was expanded to incorporate beta testing of the modifications. Flawless performance under intensive testing enabled the NBA to immediately push ahead into the final month of user training and departmental roll out. The initial target of 2 August for live operation was achieved precisely as planned! Seth and Adam are happy to report that their users are now benefiting from streamlined invoicing, financial analysis queries and reports that were simply unavailable from the previous system. Jaguar would like to extend its warmest congratulations to this dynamic duo for blazing new territory in making our clients' dreams come true! September Seminar/System 7 Preview The upcoming Film and Television Licensing seminar on 17 September in Old Town Pasadena is much more than a sequel to the successful seminars conducted in Manhattan at the end of July. This seminar will be the first opportunity to preview System 7 Internet/Client/Server as it comes to fruition. System 7 will bring the amazing power of loose-coupled object oriented n-tier system architecture to one of the most demanding business software applications in the world: film, television and intellectual property contract administration and finance. Nothing is more important to the highly competitive film and television licensing business than making it easy for your customers to do business with you. Leading companies now see technology as the driving force of their customer and business partner relationships, rather than merely a behind the scenes facilitator. Rapid improvements in Internet performance and rising customer service expectations are making present approaches to sales administration, royalty collections and customer relationships obsolete. Jaguar Consulting, will present a special seminar in Pasadena that will discuss the tools and practices necessary to ride this wave to greater success without getting beached! The seminar will provide information specific to the film and television licensing industries. Jaguar's president, Randy Johnson, will be the featured presenter. The seminar will present Jaguar system solutions as they are in use today and under development. Throughout the seminar, particular emphasis will be placed on how various software functions can be utilized to promote greater operational efficiency, customer loyalty and profitability through enhanced relationships with copyright holders, profit participants, licensees, agents and sales and creative staff. The seminar will be held on the morning of Friday 17 September at Jaguar's headquarters in Old Town Pasadena.
